JIT. COOK EXPERIENCE

(Per Press Association.)

TIMARU 1 , this day

A heavy fall of snow took place at Mount Cook yesterday, lit. falling at tho Hermitage, with a heavier fall at Ball Hut. A large muster is present Av the annual inter-varsity ski meeting, which was held to-day. There is every prospect of the snow being better for the Mount Cook winter sports, beginning on September 7, than for some years. The prospect of a visit by the Australian team now in New Zealand is creating much interest.
