Amazing Life Story
“AS.Baclia spoke and dictated to me, •hiding behind mountain crags, lending his men over the pass . . . or) in the confines of the condemned coll, so T. wrote. My notes were rough and were frequently written upon anything 1 hat came to hand. Bearing this in mind, perhaps von will do me the honour lo read?” Bearing this in mind, the reader of “My Life, from Brigand to King,’’ which is the autobiography of the late Amir Habibulhih, will view this amazing life story in tlie light of tlie somewhat abnormally turbulent days through which this brigand of Afghanistan reigned and fell. Tlie almost incredible nature of certain passages of this lucid account, of blood lust tally with authoritative data, and while some incidents may be hard to believe and may savour of historical fiction, it is, nevertheless, a human document which if only hall true is indeed remarkable.
