RECHABITE BAZAAR

SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION BRISK BUSINESS DONE The Gisborna Juvenile Keehabites held a very successful bazaar last evening in the S'elvyu Hall. The stalls were prettily decorated witii coloured paper and fruit blossom, and presented a picturesque appearance to the. buyers. Business was brisk, and it was not long before the well-laden (aides were almost emptied-of their contents. Those in charge of the stalls were: Work. Sisters Overend, Condon and Owen ; sweets, Sisters Xecnan, Miller ami MeErlahl; orchestral, Sisters Fitzgerald. Monk and ,1. Fletcher; flowers and cakes, Sisters Y. Scott and D. Taylor; woodwork. Bios. H. Knowles and ,1. Kay; ice cream and soft drinks, Bros, McGregor (2), B. Pollock and L. Olson; buttonholes. Sisters Pat White, Leonie Bimbler and 11. Cooper. Those in charge of the sideshows were Bros. W. Dnnsmoro. B. Hawkins, Pat Pickett, B. Pritchard, and F. and I. Mills. A Mickey anil Minnie Mouse fishing pood, in charge of Sisters P. Towers, R. Fletcher and P. Bartlett, was eagerly patronised by the young folk and sold out early.

During the evening two club-swinging demonstrations were given by Mr. Ronald Henderson, of the Y.M.C.A. gymnastic squad. Two amusing competitions were conducted by Bro. 11. H, Clark. Ofte, "Things in the Kitchen," was won by" Sister Mills., and the other, "Things You Brought With You.'" by Miss L.'Allen. Prizes for the other compel itions were won by the following: Iced cake, Mr. J. CUino; dressed doll, Mrs. A. (lav: sachet, Miss .lean Martin; fancy .loll.'Miss P. White; twin dolls. Miss Marie Maunsell; pair of bantams, Mrs. Cameron; pot plant, Mrs. E. Mills. The compel ii ion for the best sponge was won by Sister Nancy Owen, and Ihe best coloured drawing was exhibited by Sister Trixie Parker,' Sister Dorothy biai't being second. The cakes entered for competition were Dutch auctioned by Bro. (.'lark, and Ihe sum realised added considerably, to the efforts of the evening..
