SUPERANNUATION FUNDS
PUBLIC SERVICE POSITION (Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this flay. The Public Service superannuation fund, which has 19,199 contributors, paid £494,988 in pensions last year. Its income of £555,307, included £256,425 from contributions, £147,952 from subsidy, and £151,599 from interest. The effect of the mortgage adjustment legislation is felt on the funds, the report stating that the interest on some mortgages has been written, down from 5 to as low as 2 per cent in a number of cases for periods varying from one to three years.
