Sightseers in the grounds of Sandringham Castle had a, surprise yesterday. 1 uknown to them, the King had flown t.i Sandringham to pay a visit to his mother prior to leaving on his holiday cruise of the Adriatic, and during the afternoon both of them walked round the gardens.

Together they received hearty greetings from the holiday-makers, to several of whom they spoke. It- is not usual for members of the Royal Family to use the Sandringham gardens on days 011 which Hie public are admitted.
