WESTFIELD SALE CATTLE PRICES FIRM BETTER VALUES FOR SHEEP (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. Good quality beef cattle were offered in larger numbers at the Westfield tat stock market to-day in an average yarding. There was also a small proportion of good quality cows and heiters. Quotations all round were linn. Extra choice ox made 27s per lOOlb.; choice and prime, 23s to 2t>s; secondary and. plain, 20s to 225; prime young cow and heifer, 24s to 265; ordinary cow beef, .13s to 20s. Extra heavy prime steers sold from £ll ,10s to £ls 15s; heavy prime, £9 15s to £lO 15s; lighter prime, £8 lbs to JO 9 7s 6d; light prime, £7 15s to £8 ss; small and unfinished, £5 to £6 10s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £7 10s to £lO 12s 6d. heavy prime, £5 15s lo £6 15s; lighter prime, £4 10s to £5 7s 6d; other billable, £3 to £3 15s.

Being well below normal requirements in numbers, Ihe sheep yarding was the smallest, for a. considerable time, and, consequently prices rose 6s 3d on last, week’s rates. The demand for jugs was easier and values for fats were slightly lower. ADDINGTON MARKET SMALL ENTRIES KEEN SALE FOR ALL SORTS (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. Entries were on the small side at to-day’s Addington market and mainly owing to this cause there was a very keen sale in practically all sections of fat stock. Eat sheep.—Only .9000 were penned, and there was an advance of from Is Gd to Bs, the latter increase for heavy ewes. The best price, for wethers was 81s to JGs; good, 27s to 80s; prime medium weights, 24s Gd 10 126 s Gd; and light, down to 22s Gd. Top-priced ewes made from 2.7 s to 2Ss and in a few cases to 84s; medium to good light, down to 19s.

Eat cattle. —An average entry of 440 head canto forward. There was a firm sale at the best of last week’s rates, with a slight increase for heavy steers. Best made from £lB to £ls; good, from £ll lo £l2 15s; ordinary, down to £9. Best heifers sold at. from £9 to £lO, and in special cases more; good, £7 10s to £8 15s; ordinary, down to £G; best cows sold to £lO ,12s Gd; good £6 15s to £9; ordinary £5 to £G Ids. Best beef made from 80s to 33s per 1001 b; good, 27s to 295; ordinary, 24s to 265.

Eat pigs.—Porkers made, from 30s to 33s per 1001 b; good 27s to 295; ordinary, 24s to 265.
