FUGITIVES RECAPTURED

MEN FROM PRISON CAMP After being at liberty for nine days the two prisoners who escaped from the Ihmtn prison camp on .lime 20, Norman Harold McCormick and Charles Richard Ross, were recaptured by warders on the Taupo road, about 20 miles from Tokaanu, on Tuesday. They had been living [(rincipally on trout caught in the bush streams, and one of their first requests was for it substantial meal. The men offered no resistance. They were wearing civilian clothes and showed few signs of having suffered hardship. Apparently the heavy rain last week-end had driven them from their hiding place in the bush, making the task of the searchers easier.
