BELLS FOR NEW BRIDGE
The largest bells ever cast on the Pacific Coast, and which cam be heard for 10 miles at sea, will be installed on San Francisco’s two new bridges across the Golden Gate and San Francisco Bay for the guidance of mariners. They are expected to lie unusually serviceable on foggy nights. The largest bell which will occupv the centre of the bridges will weigh 3CCOU). each with a diameter of 52in. and a height of 40in.
