The erection, of a new courthouse and law library in Napier is to receive the consideration of the Government shortly, in conjunction with a proposal to exchange the existing site on the Marine parade with that of the old Municipal Theatre in Tennyson street. In l his connection, the Minister of Justice, the Hon. II- ( >. It. Mason, is expected to pay an early visit to Napier.
The Mayor, Mr. 1). W. Coleman, M.P.. indicated to-day for the benefit, of those who might otherwise pay unnecessary visits to the municipal offices, that for the time being the Mayor's Fund for the relief of indigence in Gisborue was exhausted, lie anticipates that further funds will be forthcoming in about a fortnight, and advises till who may have claims for assistance to stive themselves ur.r.ecosjiarv journeys in the meantime.
