Mr. W. T. Veitch was appointed by tlio Poverty Bay provincial executive of the Farmers' Union to-day to accompany tlie president, Mr. J. E'. Benson, to represent the district at ihe annual Dominion conference on July 9.
The Cook Hospital Board yesterday afternoon accepted the recommendation of the finance committee, to the effect that the resignation of Dr. James Collins, senior house surgeon, bo accepted.
