LEVEL CROSSING TRAGEDY
WOMAN LOSES LIFE TWAIN STRIKES ' AU' (Pur Press Association.) GORK, this day. A crossing accident resulting in the death of a married woman, Mrs. John Shaw, of Balfour, and injuries to two women ami two men, who wore passengers from Balfour, occurred shortly after noon to-day when a goods train on the Tapamii branch line, travelling to Waipalii, was struck by a sedan car at a crossing on the main road a quarter of a mile to the north of the Waipahi township. . . The car was proceeding north. Visibility was bad owing to heavy snow which was falling. The car was carried for a chain and a half before it was thrown aside.
