UNFINANCIAL TEAMS

DEBARRED FROM TRAVEL

Two unfinancial Maori teams are debarred from taking part in- the • Tairawhiti Maori Hockey Federation's annual tournament to be held at Waitara next week. ■ '

The Poverty Bay Hockey Asociation adopted this attitude at a meeting of the executive last night, when reports were received on the financial position of clubs affiliated with the'association. It was pointed out that at previous meetings it was decided to urge upon all clubs the necessity "of becoming financial, and as a result most had paid their fees and also the additional levy of £1

Several Maori teams, however, bad not met their obligations. Waituhi. Takitimu and Y.M.P. men's teams had

arranged for the payment of the usual fees, but were not able to meet the additional levy at present, ll was agreed to remit this amount, for the meantime only, in order to allow these teams to take part in the Waitara tournament. Two ladies' teams, however, had made no effort fo pay anything, and as a result if was decided lo dollar these two, Takitimu and M.1.A., from the competition and withhold permission for I hem to (ravel to Waitara.
