CRASH IN QUEENSLAND

MINISTER INJURED TWO OTHERS NOT HURT PLANE FLYING BLTND (Eloc. Tel. Copyright—Unitod Press Assn.) BRISBANE, June 11.

A private Monospar aeroplane conveying Mr. W. M. Hughes, the Federal Minister for Health, and another passenger from Sydney to Brisbane today, made a forced landing at Beaudesert, 47 miles from Brisbane, owing to bad weather and lack of visibility.

Mr. Hughes had his collarbone broken and suffered severe shock. The pilot and the other passenger were unhurt. The plane’s wing and undercarriage were broken. Mr. Hughes a few weeks ago was injured in a car accident. The plane was piloted by J. MeLachlan. It had been flying blind for over an hour. On landing a wing struck a fence.

Mr. Hughes is in hospital, but is thankful for his miraculous escape.
