A decision to revert to the old system of tho single jiool for betting purposes was reached by the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s .committee .at a. meeting held last week. 'The committee heard a deputation representing, the racing owners of the district in regard to the proposed reversion from- the win-and-place system, and after discussion of the proposal from various angles, decided to reinstate the older: single-pool system. The change will be effective, as from Thursday, when the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s winter nmetingcopens at Hastings.
