A verdict of accidental death was returned to-day at the inquest concerning the fate of Thomas Mull", a prominent sheepfarmer, of Tiriraukawa, near Taihape. who was killed instantly yesterday afternoon ■when branding cattle. it was explained that. Mr. Midi' had just branded a bullock and was releasing the'lever to liberate the animal when the. bullock tossed its head and struck a. lever which hit. Mr. Muir a terrific blow, fracturing his neck. He leaves a widow and three sons, two boiny student:- at Massey College.
