Pneumonic influenza has made its appearance in Southland, though the one case reported to tbe health authorities does not warrant any tear of an epidemic.
Since the. An/ac stamp campaign commenced late in April almost V.3CO has been collected in Gisborne. The sale of the stamps over the counter at the post office still continues steadily. In the recent house-to-house campaign conducted by tin; members of the Returned Soldiers' Association the sale of stamps amounted to ,tICO. The secretary of the association, Mr. W. Oakden, when making these figures known to-day. said that an effort would be made soon to make the stamps more universally used hv appealing (0 the business men of the town.
