Cosmetics and their use by young women introduced a lighter note into a discussion whether wealth could be attained in a Christian manner at a "topic of the hour" meeting held by the Southland presbytery. The subject was raised by Mr. (J. I'!. T. Dorman, who was one of the main speakers for the evening. "Why does the modern girl pluck her eyebrows and paint, her face?” he asked. “Her aim is to get a man. a certain amount of wealth, a home and satisfaction. What, will she say on Judgment Day when it is discovered that her eyebrows are missing? Isn’t it a reflection on flu l Almighty that, she is not satistied with the face God gave her':”
