Gust week the Poverty 13ay association liad no direct information concerning) the Auckland teams torn, and as a visit from such a strong representative side was eagerly looked forward to. it was decided to wiite asking for details. These came forward last night, when the proposed dates of the Wairoa and Gisborne matches, as indicated above, were given. Members pointed out that the representative match would liiteriere with the annual King’s Birthday tournament held in Gisborne, but the executive was so anxious to stage the representative match that it was agreed that other arrangements could be made. It was decided to proceed with arrangements to hold the seven-a-side tournament, and to endeavour to have all the men s games completed in the morning. It was also suggested that the final of the ladies’ section should be played as a cur-tain-raiser to the representative game. No finality was reached, however, and it was agreed that a decision on the point should ho left until nominations were received No further information was to hand regarding the association’s request for inclusion in the Fiji ladies’ tour. The association made the condition that it should not be responsible for a greater guarantee than £9O for a game in Gishorne and another in Wairoa as an alternative to the New Zealand Women’s Hockey Association’s requirement of £BS for one match in Gisborne. It was. reported that no reply had been received to the offer.
It was reported that in' view of the doubtful weather on Saturday, the game between Waituhi and M.I.A. was not played. It was agreed that this should be plaved later in the season. Messrs. B. Crosby and V. Butler were appointed a postponement committee, and it was agreed that, the decision-to postpone matches should be posted on the Herald window not later than 11.45 a.m. The appointment of Messrs. T. Tuhoe and G. Slade as ladies’ selectors was confirmed
Tt was agreed that full fees for junior teams should be 10s 6d and not £1 Is as previously decided In order to raise funds for the association, it was decided to bold a series of dances, the first to take place in tile Blue Room on Saturday. The support of all chibs was requested.
The New Zealand Hockey Association wrote asking the Poverty Bay association to he represented at a meeting of delegates from all parts of the Dominion to be held either in Wellington or Christchurch —The secretary was instructed to reply that the association
would endeavour to be represented, and that Poverty Bay would prefer the meeting to be held in Wellington. There were present at the meeting: Messrs. H. Le Bas, chairman, B. Crosby, C. Burkinshaw, G. Slade, G. Graham, W, P. Tamihnna, J. Henderson, J. Baker, A. Bryan, and the lion, secretary, Mr. V. Butler. DRAW FOR SATURDAY The draw for Saturday was arranged as follows : Senior men.—Takilimu v.
