FATAL SPANISH RIOTS
OVER 200 LIVES LOST
REDS AND GUARDS CLASH
MADRID, May 31. In a battle between the Civil Guards and Reds at Ycsto in the Albacete province, 22 peasants and one Civil Guard were killed and 5 other combatants were wounded. Two more of tho guards are expected to die. The clash was due to the seizure bypeasants of the property o! a landowner, Edmund Alfare, an ex-member of the Cortes, They uprooted 60 pine trees and began to cultivate the land. The polico arrested 14 and were escorting them to the provincial capital, when fellow villagers rtm'icd with firearms and farming implements attempted ia rescue them. '
The disturbance has not yet been quelled. Storm Guards and a Red Cross ambulance havo been dispatched to Yeate.
