The building was owned by the Gore Proprietary Company and was in-sured-in the Queensland Company for £2500. ] The contents of each shop were ■' insured, Mr. .Christie' sr with the Yorkshire Office for £475, but the ' others ; are not ascertainable. The •Soldiers' Club contents were insured "in the New 'Zealand Company for " £650,; but the loss is a severe .one to . the club; as many implacable record*. war relics, historic photographs, etc.. r .' .were completely destroyed, as well as three billiard tables, upwards of 100 cues, arid the club library.
