PROFIT ON WINTER SHOW SPLENDID ATTENDANCES NEW FEATURES, SUCCEED For the first lime since the beginning oi' the slump, the Poverty Bay Winter Show will derive a. profit from its annual 'fixture. . • It is impossible at. present to assess the total amount of-the‘credit balance the Winter Show Association will acquire as a result of last, week’s show, but the secretary, Mr. ,T. M. Kay, stated to-day that the association was assured of a profit. . The attendances each day and night were good, and, despite the ‘stormy conditions on Saturday night, the crowd was large. Kew features this year attracted much public interest, chief among these being the ping-pong championship, and. the baby show, while the association also derives considerable profit from conducting the sideshows and games itself. Members of‘the committee worked hard to ensure the success of these, and most of them made excellent sideshowmen. In addition to the decorated, procession on Saturday afternoon, a 'children’s fancy dress competition was held in the show buildings. The results were:— Six to 10 years.—Arnold Wright (Pierrot), 1; Alum. Mahoney (Father Ghristmas), 2. Girls over six years, paper dress or otherwise, —Annie Horne, 1; Myrtle Moss (Japanese), 2; Eva Graham" and .loan Race, equal, 3. The concluding results appear on ipage .11.
