RUGBY COMPETITION GREAT INTEREST TAKEN (Herald Correspondent.) Great interest is being taken in the Waikohu Rugby Sub-Union's competition owing to four teams completing, namely—Puha, Whatntutn, Tarndale, and Waipaoa. The first round was completed'on Saturday, the results of the games from the beginning of the competition 1 eing as follows: —- May .10.—Puha defeated Whatatutu by 11 points to .">; Waipaoa and Tarndale drew, 0 all. May 2;s.—l'ulia beat Tarndale, 8 points to nil; Whatatutu beat Waipaoa, 33 points to nil. May 30.—Puha beat Waipaoa, \2 points to nil; Whatatutu beat Tarndale, 10 points to 5.
Points at the end of the first round are.-—Puha G, Whatatutu 4, Waipaoa 1. Tarndale 1.
After Saturday's game supporters are convinced that a very good representative team is available to play against the Motu sub-union for the Black and White Shield at a later date.
Mr. 11. J. Brown left last, week for Auckland.—Mr. T. Vaughaii has returned from his annual leave, which he spent in Christchurch.—Mrs. •A. Cameron is visiting her brothers, Messrs. W. and B'. Page, in Hamilton and Auckland.—Master R'. Dymock left last week for Wanganui College after spending his vacation with his parents.
