Mr. IT. Duncan Hall, an Australian member of the information section of the League of Nations Secretariat, and liaison officer for press and wireless services in the British Empire, who has been lecturing in New Zealand on the work of the League, wilj sail for the United States to-morrow, en route to Geneva.
, A record for long service as chairman of a local body in New Zealand is probably held by Mr. Walter Reid, chairman of the Whakatane County Council, who was re-elected oh Wednesday for the twenty-fifth year. A member of the council, Mr. Burnett, said the occasion called for something out of the ordinary, and lie suggested a silver jubilee celebration in the chairman’s honour. A sub-committee was set up to go into the suggestion.
