DHNHDIN, last night. d'lte gratifying news has been received by the Waipiata Sanatorium eomnutfci that Mr. Samuel Saltzmnu, a well-known Dunedin business man, has given to die committee for the erection oT an adminislrnlivo and treatment, block Jm tiie sanatorium. The construction of this block bad to lie postponed in 1931 owing to the depression. Plans and specifications bad been prepared, bid the commit lee’s finances would not, permit its erection. ■'This is a magnificent gift, coming at a time when the block is urgently needed and wlicn (lie committee’s expenditure on shelters has left it- financially embarrassed,'' said the secretary of tile committee. Air. T. I’ryde. when announcing tin l gift. “We will be able to proceed almost immediately with the erection of the block for Mr. KaU/niaii is making the money available at once. Mr. Saltzmau is a most public-spirited citizen, for other institutions have recently received gifts from him.”
