BLOOD FROM NUN’S FACE
UNUSUAL MANIFESTATION TWELFTH CONS ECUTIVE TIME COSEXZA, Italy, April 11. Surrounded by physicians, priests and her Catholic sisters, the nun Elena Aiello lay in religious ecstacy on hei cot in the Coscnza Orphanage, as, tor the twelfth consecutive Good Friday, blood streamed from her face and forehead. Crowds of faithful from far and near knelt in prayer outside the little stone edifice in anticipation of the phenomenon. The little group which was privileged to witness the unusual manifestation made no effort to halt the flow of blood, which stained one pillow after another. On previous occasions the bleeding has stopped suddenly at about midnight, leaving the nun's face a chalk white.
The nun, according to physicians, does not appear to suffer. Her lips opened in a faint smile as the blood stream increased. Before her was an image of Saint Theresa, her protectress.
