It was the Revolutionary Tribunal of Paris where, in 1780, the nobility and the aristocracy of France stood on trial before radical revolutionary leaders and heard themselves sentenced to death on the guillotine. In the room the history of the world was changed; from a monarchy, France became a republic. Carpenters, wine-shop keepers and other modest persons sat in the judicial benches of that courtroom in 1 7St>, men and women who had felt the oppressive hand of the rulers too long. Impersonating them in the film version of the famous Dickens classic were .Mitchell Lewis, Fritz Leiber, Tally .Marshall, Blanche Yurka, Lucille Lavernc and other nota'bles, for women of the revolution assisted in the orgy of death.
