BARQUE SALVAGE HOPES

STRANDED FINNISH CRAFT APPEAL FOR FUNDS (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 10 a.m. RUGBY, May 25. A movement is on foot to secure the necessary funds by public appeal for the salvage of the Finnish barque Herzogin Cecile, which went aground off the South Devon coast on April 25. The owner and captain believes the ship can be saved to take her part again in the grain races from Australia in which she already lias made history. He lias given an undertaking that if the British public subscribes the necessary funds for the salvage work, he will in future take British apprentices free of all fees to gain experience in sail before the mast.
