FILM FOLK TESTIFY
MURDER- TRIAL I,OS ANGELES. April 15. Glenda Farrell, Guy Kibhee, Frank McHugh, l’nl O’Brien and other film players attended a real-life murder trial at I .os Angeles to-day. They went to defend Bushy I’erke ley, dance director, who is charged with second-degree murder in consequence of a motoring accident last September, in which three people were killed. He is being tried a second time, the jury having disagreed at his (irst trial.
All the film actors gave evidence that Berkeley was sober when he left a party before tin 1 accident.
“What was Berkeley doing if he was not drinking?’’ Kibhee was asked.
“He was enjoying an electric chair we had rigged up,” said Kibhee, “lie would get guests into conversation and let them sit in the clmir. Then they would get an electric, shock. ’ ’
