The offer of the New Zealand Women s Hockey Association to include Poverty Bay in the itinerary of the Fiji women s team at a guarantee of £BS tor a Saturday match was considered. Membeis believed this amount- was too high, and that- the Poverty Bay association would be taking a great risk ill guaranteeing the amount wanted. It was eventually agreed to write to the. Now Zealand Women’s Hockey Association offering a guarantee ol £ICO tor a Saturday match in Gisborne and a. mid-week match in Wairoa. the individual guarantees from. Poverty Bay and Wairoa- to be a- matter of negotiation between association arid sub-association. It was decided to write to the Wairoa. sub-association to this effect. . . . No official advice regarding a visit from ail Auckland team was to hand, butit, was staled that. from information received it. was known that three. Auckland teams intended to go on tour, and that the strongest, would include- Gisborne in its itinerary, the Gisborne match being pencilled for'dune 20. It was. decided to write to- the Auckland association for confirmation.

SELECTORS APPOINTED Tt was agreed that, two selectors should be appointed for the men’s representative team and also for the women’s. The following were elected. —Men, Messrs. J. Henderson and W. P. Tarnihnna. Ladies. —Messrs. G. Slade and B. Tnhoe. A complaint- was received regarding the completion of the Caledonian-Forest-ers match in the- dark on Saturday, and it, was agreed that the late- games should not- commence later than 3 p.m., and that the earlier games commencing late must lose playing time. Owing to the withdrawal of the lakitinni (P.) team from the men's morning competition, leaving only three teams for morning play, it was decided in play Waitnhi against Foresters next Saturclav. It was reported that, the High School hostel ground was unfit for play, and a suh-connnittee comprising Messrs. Graham, Krebs, Brvan and Fere, was appointed In make improvements. Tt was also- decided to write to_ the rector of the High School asking if an additional ground could be made available. < Arrangements lor the usual King s Birthday seven-a-side tournament, this year oti .Tune 25. were discussed, and 'it, was decided to close the entries on June 15. Tt was agreed that- schoolboys matches should be catered for in the tournament. Letters from junior teams complained that. it. would be impossible for them to raise the additional levy on them of 10s 6d, and it was decided to defer the matter until next/ meeting. An extension until next Saturday was granted all teams for the payment, of affiliation fees. It was agreed to institute, a system ol tickets for the gatekeepers.
