THE DIFFICULT NORTH COL OF EVEREST. — Heavy snow has interrupted the climbers who were advancing from Camp 4 in the latest attempt to climb Mt. Everest. The North Col, shown in the photograph with a party of porters of a previous expedition on their way to Camp 5, has-been rendered impassable by heavy snow, according to a message from the leader, Mr. Hugh Ruttiedge (inset).
