HOLMES’ TOURING SIDE KINDNESS APPRECIATED AUSTRALIA AND DOMINION (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. April 15, 3 p.m.) LONDON, April. 14. The Mnrylebone cricketers arrived: here from New Zealand to-day. The captain, Holmes, says that considering that 14 men were never simultaneously fit, the team did quite well. He paid tribute to the, kindness of the New ' Zealanders and Australians. He described Hardstaff, in view of his 230 at Sydney, as “a real Australia man,” and expressed the opinion that Parks and Langridge were the surprises ci the tour owing to their invaluable batting, bowling and catching. Ho added that he would like to go to Australia, on the forthcoming tour, but ho • did not. expect the captaincy. He expressed the opinion that the New Zealanders and Australians took well to I lie new .leg-before rule. He refused to discuss Human’s howling of 24 wides against New Zealand, which, it. is understood, the Mnrylebone club is considering after receiving a report from Holmes.
