Although the aeroplane being constructed by Mr. Jack Allison, of Whakatane, reached the stage when it was ready for inspection by the departmental officer, several months ago, it. was only last .week that the officer visited Whakatane for the purpose. After a careful examination of the machine the officer pointed out several slight alterations that were necessary to comply with the Government's regulations and which ■would require to be carried out before the final inspection and passing of the machine as being airworthy. Mr. Allison hopes to have the plane ready for trial in a few months' time.
