RUGBY FOOTBALL
EARLY PRACTICE GAMES Several of the Rugby football clubs have commenced training for the coming season. In addition to the clubs engaged in the Spillane Cup tournament, u» be held iii tlisboine at Raster, great keenness is evident among members of other clubs. The following Marist Old Hoys Club players are to attend at the Oval at 2.30 p.m. 10-morrow to take part in a practice name with ail Old Hoys I'luli team: L'.. Wright, ITonaii, P. Tilly. Ilv.ui. ['. llainrnun, IX lleenev. Rogers, 11. Duckworth, Shaukey, . ll.' Kirkpatriek, Julian, Knopwood. Mnnro, Qitinn ('/), Bean, Atchison. Ashclown, and .K. U'llnlloran. Members of other grades and intending players are also asked to be present at the practice.
The Oval is in good condition tor the commencement of the football season. The first- few games at least, depending on the length of the summer, are usually played on hard fields, but the weather has been such during the past season that it. would have been possible to play Rugby on the Oval throughout that period.
