A lb-acre paddock of oats oh Mr. !.. O'Sullivaii s farm was completely ruined. Ploughing operations, which' were put in hand as soon as the djimage was realised, were hampered by ihe pests crawling over the horses and driver whenever a halt was made. Though the area is a considerable dislanee from the coast large numbers of seagulls gathered each day to feast on the insects.
