GIFTS FROM JAPAN.-The above trophies, most of them of great value, were presented by Japanese Rugby enthusiasts to the New Zealand University team which has just completed a tour of Japan. Top row, from left, football presented by Mr. Kojima, of Kyoto, governor of the Rotary Club of Japan; rose bowl presented by Mr. Mishio Yusawa, Governor of the Hygo Prefecture; flower bowl presented by Mr. Tsuda, president of the Kanegabuchi Spinning Company. At bottom, cloisonne vase (left), presented by the president of the Kamesaburo Yamashita Shipping Company, of Tokio, and the Asahi Rugby football trophy, presented by the newspaper Tokio Asahi Shimbun for test matches between Japan and New Zealand and won by the touring team.
