TROUBLE AT ALBERT HALL FASCISTS AND OPPONENTS EXPLANATION IN COMMONS (Kli'o. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Heed. March 26. 3.15 p.m.) . LONDON, -March 25. The number oi police on duty in connection with the Fascist meeting addressed hv Sir Oswald Moseley in the Albert Ibill last Sunday was about 2:00. in addition to 200 held in reserve. The estimated cost was £3OO. said' Sir John Simon in the House of Commons. lie added that of 24 persons arrested. none complained at the police station of injury and none asked to see a doctor. At least two policemen were severely kicked. Attempts to hold anti-Fascist meetings nearby in spite of police prohibition led to the disturbance. The, officer in charge ultimately ordered the mounted police to disperse the crowd and. in view of the attempts to upset the riders, truncheons had to be used. In reply to a question as to the desirability of prohifnting the use of the Albert Hall lor such meetings, Sir John Simon said we must face the responsibility as we were living in a free country.
