Reports from the little fishing town of Uiirich to-rlny said flint 1800 jlslicimen anil 1480 horses have been marooned in bitter weather on a huge floating mass of ice in the Caspian Sea.
According to word received here, the men were fishing on a vast expanse of ice at a considerable distance from shore, when a section of it. broke nil' and carried them away, along with their horses.
Swept out to sea, the men are said to have food supplies lor 40 days. A group of 08 men who were also carried off on floating ice arc said to have no food.
Two airplanes made several flights in an effort, to locate the floating islands of ice and bring aid to the distressed fishermen.
