ROME JEALOUS

PARIS FASHIONS

HOME, .Jan. 29

Though the import of foreign dress materials has been banned since sanctions began, Paris fashions are- still t he. inspiration of most Italian, dressmakers. The Fascist authorities have now determined to create a national style. The Fascist Federation of Dress Material Merchants therefore announces a competition for posters and slogans to advertise the merits of Italian fashions. A first prize of £3O is offered for the best poster and one of £ls for the aptest slogan. Both artists and slogan writers are told to "show that in the qualities of beauty and durability articles of clothing produced in Italy are equal if not superior to those formerly imported from abroad."
