WAIRARAPA CONTEST SUCCESS OF w. N. MASEFIELD CHAMPION OF MEETING (Per Press Association.) AIASTERTON, this day. The forty-first annual handicap meeting of the Wairarapa Rifle. Association was held til the Papawai range, Greytown, yesterday. There, were 75 entries, -.0 more than last year. ’The conditions were difficult, a tricky head wind blowing, with light showers in the morning. The afternoon was fine hut. cold. The scoring) generally was not high, though there were a number of fine performances. W. N. Masefield, the well-known Blenheim rifle shot, put up a wonderful performance winning the Bidwill Alemorial Challenge Belt and the shield ior championship grand aggregate, the Alaunseil Challenge Cup for the highest aggregate at 600, 800 and 900yds, the Buchanan Alemorial Challenge Cup for the highest, aggregate, at- 300, 500 and 600yds and the Rivers Challenge Cup for the highest, aggregate at 800 and 900yds. Tlie Walden Challenge Cup for the handicap aggregate was won by K. 1 >• Gray, of Okato.
