HORTICULTURE INSTITUTE
DOMINION CONFERENCE ELECTION OF OFFICERS (Per Press Association,) AUCKLAND, this day. A largo number of horticulturists from various parts of New Zealand attended the thirteenth annual conference of the New Zealand Institute oi Horticulture yesterday. The president, Air. F. J. Nathan, of Palmerston North, presided. The institute had obtained authority, Hirough Parliament, to set up an examining board and to issue certificates and diplomas to expert gardeners, sum iho president. The scheme had been a complete success. Up to dale 256 diplomas bad been issued. The election of officers resulted:— President, Air. P. J. Nathan; vicepresidents, Messrs. T. L. Lancaster (Auckland), 0. W. Cornergf (Hawke's Hay), P. .Black (Palmerston North), J. ti. Mackenzie (Wellington), .J. Bigg (Nelson), J. A. McPherson (Canterbury), U. T:umock (Otago), and Sir Hubert Anderson (Southland) ; executive committee, Mrs. Knox Gilmer, Professor 11. 15. Kirk, Dr. W. H. B. Oliver, Messrs. A. 11. Cockayne, J. A. Campbell, T. Waugh, F. S. Pope, W. C. Hyde, W. S. Mason, 13. C. Ashton, T. C. Brash, 11. ,L Poole, W. K. Dallas, E. Phillips Turner, and A. McMillan.
