HAWKE’S BAY WEDDING

SHIELD—HILL

Tlio> Puketapu Church, Hawke’s May, was a bower of flowers on Wednesday afternoon when a wedding of great interest In the many friends of the contracting parties took place. Wbatatntn. .Miss Sylvia While, Takapan. and the Misses Betty and Sylvia Shield, sisters of tin' bridegroom. Their frocks of blue taffetas were cut. on long graceful lines and bad short puffed sleeves. (In their heads they wore wreaths of scarlet real Hewers and they carried scarlet bouquets.

Mr. John Shield was the best man and Mr. Vivian Hill and Mr. Rowan Hill acted as ushers. After the ceremony, which was performed by the ilov. llyde. Mr. 1). B. Hill entertained many guests at a wedding breakfast at bis home at Fernhill. Eater, when the bride and bridegroom left on their honeymoon, the bride was wearing an attractive fawn and nigger brown Viennese suit, with a nigger brown bat. shoes and hand-bag.
