ANTARCTIC WHALING
AUSTRALIAN RIGHTS PROTEST IN JAPAN TOKIO, March 3. The Tokio daily, the Yomiuri, prints •a. remarkable story that Australia, under British pressure, has unilaterally declared the Antarctic whaling waters within Australian territorial waters, because British and British-controlled Norwegian whaling interests are alarmed by the increasing competition from a Japanese company.
The Japanese company is preparing to appeal to the Foreign Office to protect its rights under the freedom of the seas.
