ADVERTISING ONE FIRM

DEPARTMENT'S CIRCULAR STRONG PROTEST MADE (Far Presi Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Strong exception to a paragraph in a circular letter sent to manufacturers of milking machines in New Zealand by Mr. "J. S. Hunter, secretary of the Department of labour, unemployment division, in which he mentioned the quality ofrubberware made by a particular firm was taken, in a letter received by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce.

-Th,e writers said that no objection taken to Mr. Hunter pointing out to manufacturers that it was their duty to use the products of New Zealand, but felt that he was going beyond his juris diction in mentioning a particular firm's name. A paragraph in the letter, the writers stated, was practically an instruction to use a particular make of rubberware.

The chamber decided to refer the letter to the Associated Chambers of Commerce.
