To-day's North Island Report Blue skies were reported north of Oisborne this morning, but overcast conditions were reported furl her south. Moderate to strong southerly breezes were general. The barometer had risen rapidly since yesterday. Temperatures a I 9 o'clock we're: Auckland 63 degrees. Tauranga 62, Opotiki and Oisborne 59, East Cape SSL Napier 56, and Welling lon 53. .Bough seas were reported at Wellington, Cape I'alliser. and ICasl Cape; elsewhere moderate to smooth.

A deep depression extends from New Zealand eastwards, the main centre being near the (.'hatham Islands. A moderate anticyclone is advancing over the Tasman Sea. Winds: Southerly, strong to gale force, but gradually moderating. Seas: High .south of Castlepoiut. and in the South Taranaki Bight ; elsewhere rough. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong southerly winds to gales, with rough seas, bul wind and sea shortly decreasing. Weather: Cold, changeable, and squally, wif.li showers in most districts; heavy on parts of the East Coast, and hail ui places; conditions improving however. to-morrow, from the westward.
