CENTRE CHAMPIONSHIPS RAIN MARS MEETING Only two envenls, the heats of the 100yds. and the hop, step and jump championships had been run off at the llawke's Bay-Poverty Bay centre championship meeting at. Napier on Saturday afternoon when rain commenced to fall. The. sports were continued throughout the afternoon ami evening in heavy rain. The T. Parker Shield for the club gaining most points at a championship meeting was annexed by Hastings with 110? points. The other'clubs were placed as follows.: —Napier 74 points, Gisborne 70 points, and Dannevirko 2J, points. Hastings lady athletes won the Annie Hoiden dip. Graham Quinn, the. Gisborne sprint champion, gained the titles for the-100, 220 and 440yds. events. In all, the Gisborne club won. eight events out of 18 in which it was represented.
