The Tasman flyer, Mr. VV. M. ("Pat") O'Wara, who visited Gisborne to-day m his 'Klemin Kagle low-wing monoplane, does not intend lo try his luck over the Tasman again on bis return trip lo Australia, en route to the Kasl Indies, where he has made his home since the close'of the Great War. He will ship his plane from Auckland Lo Sydney al.ont mid-February, and thence will fly across Australia in comparatively short stages lo Perth and eventually lo Darwin. From that point, his present plans envisage a. flight over the Timor Sea to Koepang, and further short stages lo his) home in Java, where he is a rubber-planter with an employment list running into thousands. As a former member of the N.Z.E.F., with which he served as a machine-gunner, Mr. O'Hara has received a warm welcome from the ex-service men's organisations! in different parts of the Dominion during his lengthy stay in the country.
