BREEDING OF PIGS
DOMINION INDUSTKY BOARD REPR ESENTATIVE (Per Press Association.) PALMERSTQN N., thiSs day. At a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Pig Breeders' Association it was decided to support a letter from the North Taranaki branch urging that the pig industry should have a, representative on the Meat Producers' Board. The council is to approach the Department of Agriculture and the Government with the request. The chairman, Mr. .1. A. Russell, of Palmevston North, expressed the opinion that many boards would shortly be ehauged. At the suggestion of the. South Island branch, it was decided to write to the authorities at Smithfield, London, asking for u sample judging card; showing the relative possible points for the different sections of pork and baconer pigs, so that they could be judged on the same basis on the hoof in New Zealand. One member said that the judging in the Dominion without this was done in the dark.
