bald John Bobbie, of Invercargill, a bank clerk, who lost his life in the upper Jtollyford on Sunday, .shows that with jtviu others, Messrs. They had emerged from the bush and were proceeding along the foot of a face above a.high cliff when he lost his foothold and Slipped.4oo to 500 ft. down the mountain side. \ " ,
His companions, who were ahead, did not actually witness the accident, but saw Dobbie falling, and immediately returned to'a public works camp, from ■which men were sent out and located the body within 10 minutes. Dobbie was badly injured, and the indications were that he was killed in'stantaneously.
