AMERICAN WRITERS
MAY VISIT AUSTRALIA MELBOURNE, Jan, 9. Mr llnrokl W. Clapp, clmirman oi the Australian National Travel Association's honorary board, announced today that the association was arranging with the editors of certain American magazines to send leading writers to Australia, for the purpose of studying conditions* here and writing special articles. It had been arranged that Miss Marjorie Schiller, feature writer for the Christian Science .Monitor, Mr and Mrs Welib AValdron, contributors and lecturers, and Mr .1. (". Furnas, who recently toured Russia for the Saturday Kvcn'ing Post, should come to Australia in March or April. They would travel under the auspices, of the association, and they had an assured market for their articles among magazines with a nation-wide circulation in North America. Mr Clapp said he fell thai this was an excellent nut hod of advertising Australia, and It would also serve to create a belter understanding between the two countries.
