AIR ACCIDENTS

HEAVY insurance claims LONDON, Dec. 15. The aviation correspondent of The Times says': “Insurance claims in 1935 have been the heaviest for years, resulting in higher premiums. Further increases are considered inevitable. It is likely that it will be many years before underwriting earnings offset the heavy losses lately settled. “The large number of accidents is ascribed to the rapid development of regular air services, and tho desire to maintain higher speeds, whatever the weather. Experts are doubtful whether the continuously expanding airlines will be able to obtain sufficient fully trained experienced pilots in a short space of time.’ 1
